The Evksinograd Residence is located 8 km north of Varna and is located on a 3-kilometer coastal strip in close proximity to the resort of St. Constantine and Elena. The complex was the summer residence of the monarchs who ruled Bulgaria after its liberation from Ottoman rule (1878) – Alexander Battenberg, Ferdinand and Boris III.

In 1880, Prince Battenberg visited Varna and was welcomed at the St. Dimitar Monastery, which was located on the site of today’s residence. The monarch liked the nature here so much that two years later the Varna municipality donated the monastery and its adjacent lands to him.

The wines from Evksinograd are still famous today for their excellent quality. The winery uses grapes from the Chardonnay, Riesling, Traminer, Muscat Ottonel and Vrachanski Misket varieties. The white wines are produced using both classical and modern methods and are aged in oak barrels. The winery is also proud of its fine brandy and organizes tastings of its best products for its guests.
