It is located at 2 Doyno Gramatik Street in Elena and is a cultural monument of national importance. It was here that the fighter for church independence, Ilarion Makariopolski, his brother Nikola Mihaylovski – a prominent literary and educational figure of the Bulgarian National Revival, and his son, the poet and satirist Stoyan Mihaylovski, were born. In 1863, the Elena community center “Napredak” was founded here.

The house has high architectural value and is a typical example of the rich log homes in Elena. It was built in 1710-1715 from stone and wood, harmoniously combining the two materials. The building is two-story, with a moving volume and a picturesque appearance.

It has preserved the cellars, storerooms, stables and one living room on the ground floor. The upper floor has two separate staircases, one covered, in the western part, and the other open – in the eastern part of the house. In the courtyard is the Hadzhihristova fountain, built in 1754.
