Pink Pelican

A bold wine project by the two brothers Mario and Boyan Boev, inspired by the beautiful Srebarna natural park and the protected bird species there - the Pink Pelican. Descendant winemakers from several generations back, the Boev brothers wanted to show people what it is like to "set foot" on the Danube through their wines. For themselves, they choose the slogan "craft is a well-forgotten synonym for quality".

Our history

Pink Pelican was "hatched" in 2017, in the town of Silistra, and behind it are two young and ambitious brothers - Boyan and Mario. They are hereditary winemakers from several generations back, who want to show people what it is like to have "set foot" on the Danube through their wines.

The vineyards are 110 acres, located in the town area. The grape varieties used in the winery are Tamyanka, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Italian Riesling - for the white wines. Cabernet Sauvignon is used for the production of red wine and rosé.

The truth is that the brothers grew up making wines in their parents' small family winery. They taught them that to make something good, you have to burn in your work and do it with love. And to go onward and upward, you have to leave something behind, which is why the Boev brothers created their own wine project.

So in 2017 they made their first series of craft wines, namely "Srebarna".

It is named after the UNESCO-protected Srebarna national park not far from Silistra, and the name "Pink Pelican", as you might have guessed - after the protected bird species Pink Pelican.

The idea for their project was born exactly on Boyan Boev's birthday, from there on everything is a beautiful fairy tale.
