Established in 2010, in the village of Bulskovo, Provadia municipality, just 60 km from the city of Varna. Salla Estate was created by the brothers Ivan Ivanov and Georgi Anastasov, owners of the winery today. In the past, the name of the village of Bulskovo was SALLA, originating from the word SALIH, meaning - "PURE, BEAUTIFUL, GOOD" - in perfect unison with the idea for the creation of the winery. Near the village stands the naturally protected medieval fortress of Mukhaliysko Kale, in the sheer cliffs of which the Rock Monastery is carved, dating from the 12th - 14th centuries, and in the Tapanite cave, inhabited since the Stone Age, with every blow an echo is heard like the sound of a drum.
The grapes are grown in 300 decares of their own vineyards, located directly next to the winery, on the Southwestern slope. The varieties used in the winery are Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer and Vratsa Misket - for white wines. For the production of red wines and rosé, the varieties Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir are used.
During the cultivation of the land before planting the new vineyards, Greek and Roman coins from Moesia and Thrace, fragments of clay vessels and ceramics, dated from the 4th century BC to the 19th century, were found in the area, which testify to the existence of a large wine market.
The climate is transitionally continental. The soils are represented by carbonate sandy - clay deposits. They are characterized by good aeration, water permeability and water retention capacity.
