The Ivanovs family and their friend, agronomist and oenologist Stefan Choranov had the idea to continue the tradition of winemaking with a lot of love and faith in the uniqueness of the Elena Balkan.
They christen the winery of the village of Maryan, where they make wines with great dedication, and the extraordinary history of the village is linked to the legend of the beautiful Kera Tamara - daughter of Tsar Ivan Alexander and sister of Tsar Ivan Shishman - the last Bulgarian ruler.
Maryan winery does not have its own vineyards, but for the wines are selected grapes harvested from supervised vineyards, which choose strictly.
The varieties worked with in the winery are Dimyat, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc - for the white wines. Mavrud, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are used for red and rosé wines.
